Sneak Peek

Just a quick peek at some of the 60+ new/vintage items coming to the shop tonight.

shop update...

Our shop was offline this weekend due to some technical difficulties with our webhost server provider. But we're back online now and a big update to the shop will be up Monday night + Tuesday morning. Luckily we're already in the midst of switching our webhost which will coincide with some new and improved features to our site. (which should launch in a week or two)

We're excited about the update this week, hope you'll like it too.
Check it out tonight + Tuesday morning!

DUMBO

This weekend we went up to Brooklyn to sell at the Winter Brooklyn Flea Market in DUMBO. We brought the whole family and an experience it was. Holly's favorite vendors there were the Mclure's pickle guy and the Choice Market pastries. She took full advantage of the spicy garlic dill pickle samples - and we bought a big jar of them home with us. Mostly, Stu was attending to our booth (with the help of our good friends who came to help out) and I was keeping Holly + Otis occupied. On our adventure we had hot chocolate from jacque torres, played at the pirate ship playground, went to a great bookstore and visited with some old friends and met a lot of new ones.

Thanks everyone who was able to come out!

We're diligently working on a big update to the shop for Monday, so please look out for it.

at the soapbox races

We love this (spring 08) campaign from Kate Spade that captures a day of soapbox racing. It makes us wish for days as a kid where our biggest dilemmas were where or who we were going to play with and maybe a scraped knee or elbow.

Now as parents we are lucky to be able to relive this carefree and innocent time with our children, although occasionally we may revert back to being five years old. Case in point: Our daughter has a hand-me-down battery operated jeep that is just her size. You push on the gas and it goes and can even drive in reverse. It was passed down from her cousins so we revived it with a little orange spray paint and it looks pretty cool. The person who loves it the most however is not Holly but Stu. I sometimes see him squeeze into it and drive it up our driveway to get the mail and speed down as fast as those plastic wheels can go. Holly and I are waiting for the wheels to buckle but we sure laugh when we see him driving it all around our yard. I'm hoping our son Otis will want to build a soap box car one day, so Stu can race it around too.
