A boat with sticks and leaves.

Found this old photo of a handmade boat Stu made. One sunny day in Central Park. He was so proud of it and we launched it into the lake before we left. Makes me wish for warm weather.

We have updated our shop with lots of fun items. Take a look around.

They're Back!

Just a quick note to say that a few favorites are now back in-stock, like the Sweet Bird on a Tree Vessel, Bluebird & Trees Carafe, Speckled Egg Nesting Bowls, J. Mendicino 6" Pigeon Vase, and Teacups Tea Towel. And Xenia Taler Storybook tiles, featured in this month's Domino magazine, will be back in-stock this week!

Exciting Stuff

Spring is coming soon and there are many new things happening. Just in are these very cute Petit Coco pots, with seeds and peat for growing your own fresh herbs. They are sold in a colorful set of three and would look very lovely in a kitchen windowsill. We also have added another Wooden Box Series to the Originals section of our shop.

Lastly, we are so excited and honored to be included in Cookie magazine. You can read about us in the March issue on stands now, on cookiemag.com or view it in our press section here.

Be Afraid...Be Very Afraid!

It's creepy. It's weird. It looks like one of Scooby-Doo's arch villains and it made me fear my child. Deep from the dark lurks of the highway restaurant pitstop, it's...Frownie!

So what exactly is a Frownie? Well, basically it's a brownie with a white icing grimace. But oh, it's so much more than that. As chief mascot of a local highway pitstop restaurant we went to on a recent roadtrip, Frownie takes on many forms: banners, menus, stickers, placemats, masks... children's souls! The meal at this restaurant was okay, but it was all leading up to the frownie dessert. And while it was a good brownie, we really must take stock on what's going on with the children's masks. I have seriously never been more freaked out from Holly than when she was wearing this mask, grunting "i'm gonna eat you! i'm gonna eat you!". This thing was so freaky, I had to sleep with the light on for a whole month and have only just recently begun to eat chocolate again...but no brownies, please.

Sprinkles

Holly and I made cupcakes yesterday. Her favorite part are the sprinkles (sometimes its the only part she likes to eat). A cozy day inside since it was a icy icy day outside.

Today our new kids section was featured on Daily Candy kids edition. Yay! We also have just added more new vintage prints and fun items to shop. Take a look around and have a lovely valentines day!

Truly Inspiring

It was tough waking up early today, but got really inspired when I stumbled upon this link of little paper houses crafted from old business cards and paper materials. At first, they just look like a great little crafty project, but after taking a closer look and reading Sharon's story, you see how absolutely amazing they really are; how such wonderful stories have been crafted from these simple little card and paper houses. I can't think of a better or craftier way to record memories and will definitely start this tradition with our family. So much packed into one little structure: every piece telling its own story: where the materials are from (a favorite restaurant or local shop's business card, packaging from a box of chocolates from valentine's day, etc.) the selection of the structure itself (grandma's house, the local church, the log cabin we rented by the lake, etc.), the hands of the person who made it. They are an absolutely wonderful way to capture a moment in time. You could even extend these to other significant objects like a little subway car made from old Metrocards to remember the subway line you took to work everyday while living in the city (well, that would be the first one I think I would make).

Things We Collect

Jan from the Poppytalk asked us to participate in her "collecting" series on her blog. You can read all about our collections here. Thanks for including us in this great series, Jan!

This weekend was beautiful, a warm high fifty degrees, which means we spent as much as we could being outdoors. Holly got out her hula-hoop and Stu his skateboard and we played.

Penguins.

Oui Oui, it's a rainy Friday here today. Light is not too good for taking photos so we're cropping photos and writing descriptions for the kids section that is coming to you the week of February 12th. This is a sneak peek of a product in the kids section a wooden bowling set of penguins, they have little berets that make them look very french, huh.

Hope they brighten your day. Also don't forget our valentines day sale ends this Sunday February 4th.
