Gnomes

Thought I'd share this fun book we have about Gnomes. "Gnomes" by Huygen and illustrated by Dutch artist Rien Poortvliet. It's a fun book of lore and is a beautifully illustrated behind-the-scenes look at these cute little guys.

Some fun facts: Did you know know that gnomes rub noses in both greeting and farewell? Or that they are seven times stronger than a human?

I was obsessed with this book around the 5th grade--loved it. There's a follow-up where the authors are supposedly living with gnomes. I was thinking of buying used copies of those a few months ago and then never got around to it. Fun!

Wow...seeing this book brought back so many forgotten memories. I had this book when I was about 6. I paged through it obsessively every day. Thanks for reminding me about it. I think it was given away at some point, but I think I will order one so I can read it to my child one day.

I love these books. I also remember reading them as a child. I think there is one on Fairies too.

oh my gosh - I have this book too! (somewhere anyway, I never throw books away) My aunt bought it for me when I was little but none of my friends had ever seen it. I'd forgotten all about it til now, too :) Gosh, what a lovely memory jog, thank you.
